Hansel And Gretel Go Witch Hunting

While Tommy Wirkola had done some work on a sequel script, it's believed that the studio is completely reworking the screenplay for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2. No specific plot points have been announced. It is known that the main story will once again follow the witch-hunting brother and sister duo Hansel and Gretel. This time, they will be going against an even bigger threat that must be vanquished to save mankind.

Hansel and Gretel Go Witch Hunting

As we are introduced to the older Hansel, we notice that he is very strong and very brave. It seems that he is very much in love with his job of witch-hunting; this is seen in a deleted scene where Hansel is telling a woman of a witch that he killed, but the woman showed no interest and left for her friends. Because he spends much of his time focused on witch hunting his social skills are not the best and he can become uncomfortable when interacting with people other than his sister, as evidenced when he stutters and pauses while talking to Mina about his job occupation, and again when she starts undressing to get into the healing pool, he also seems to try to avoid conversation. He is also borderline vulgar with the way he uses his words. Being dependent on insulin every few hours, he is sometimes good with scheduling.

Critics have not been too kind to these witch-hunting siblings. Several reviewers have blasted the film for its thin story, deliberate anachronisms, and lack of funny dialogue -- perhaps a surprise given that Will Ferrell serves as one of the film's producers.

Cursing with anachronistic brio and decked out in Steampunkish frock coats and leather pants, Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton star as the sibling slayers, who have parlayed their childhood fame into a thriving witch-hunting business. Called upon to investigate disappearing children in a woodland village, the two run afoul of the local sheriff (Peter Stormare) when they interrupt a witch hunt in progress.

High concept pitch or no, the movie doesn't really work. They were shooting for sort of a witch-hunting "Zombieland," an f-bomb-riddled "Van Helsing" packed with comical anachronisms _ a Bavarian forest past with witch trials, pump shotguns and primitive tasers, where bottles of milk have woodcut pictures of "missing children" on the labels. 2ff7e9595c
